What it is
The analytics dashboard puts every completed dairy carbon assessment in your account on one screen, so you can look at your farms as a group rather than one at a time. It is eleven tabs, each answering a different kind of question, all driven by the same filters.
It covers dairy carbon only. Beef assessments do not appear, and neither does an assessment that is still in progress.
Finding it
In the left-hand menu, select Analytics, then Farm Analytics.
Filtering
The filter row sits under the tab bar and controls everything on the tab below it. Your choices stay applied as you move between tabs.
- Year opens on the year you last filtered by elsewhere in the platform. Remove it to see every year at once, or select several years together.
- Region takes none, one, several or all of your regions. Farms with no region assigned are grouped as Unknown.
- Productivity Group: Lower Cutoff and Higher Cutoff set where low, medium and high productivity begin and end for the charts that group farms that way. Typical productivity differs by country and by system, so set thresholds that mean something for your farms rather than reading the defaults as given.
- Some tabs carry extra filters that apply only to them. Feed adds Animal Type, Feed Type and Blend; Mitigation adds Farm.
Region is where most of the value on this dashboard sits. Comparing your farms against each other tells you the spread; comparing region against region tells you whether that spread follows how and where the farms are run. If your farms have no regions, every view here collapses to a single group called Unknown.
What each tab covers
- Overview — where your footprint stands for the year, and how it has moved over time.
- Emissions Details — how total emissions break down by source, and how they differ by productivity group.
- Farm Breakdown — how footprints are distributed across your farms, and where the bulk of them sit.
- Performance — farms compared against each other on pairs of metrics, with each farm marked as above-average, typical or below-average efficiency for that comparison.
- Feed — a deep dive into what the herds are fed: nutritional values and the footprint of feed, plus the total amount of each ingredient across all farms.
- Fertiliser — mineral and slurry nitrogen across the assessed farms.
- Slurry — how slurry is stored and how it is spread.
- Practices — how the farms are managed: grazing, replacement rates and similar.
- Farm Details — the per-farm tables. Footprint broken down farm by farm, lactating cow diet per farm, and outlier detection. Select a farm's name to open its detail page.
- Opportunities — what your emissions would be if the higher-footprint farms closed the gap to the lowest-footprint quarter of farms in their own region.
- Mitigation — what the mitigation scenarios and strategies set up in your account would do, per farm and per region.
Exporting
The download icon in the top right-hand corner exports the tab you are on as a PDF.
To export one chart, select the ··· in its top right corner, then Download results. You get the chart's underlying data as a CSV.
Why it matters for your results
Only completed assessments reach this dashboard. A farm you expected to see and cannot find is a data collection problem rather than an analytics one — check its assessment status.
Check the year before you read anything. The dashboard arrives already filtered to the year you were last working in, which is usually right and occasionally not.
The productivity groups are only as meaningful as the cutoffs you set. They are yours to choose, and nothing on the dashboard warns you if they are wrong for your farms.
Mitigation stays empty until scenarios exist. Setting them up is covered in Running a scenario and Setting mitigation defaults.
