Which module does what

ODOS is built around three modules: Farm Carbon Footprint, Corporate Carbon Footprint and Land Intelligence. Each one answers a different question about a different part of your business's sustainability.

All three are named together in the left-hand menu under Measurement, which is where you read each module's results. It is not where the work happens. The menu is organised by what you are doing rather than by module, so each module spans several areas:

You add farms and their yearly data under Farm Data: Farms holds the farm records, Assessments holds one carbon assessment per farm per year, and Blend Manager holds the feed blends those assessments draw on.

Results appear under Measurement → Farm Emissions, one row per farm with its carbon footprint and total emissions for the year you select. Here you can open any farm's results and a more detailed farm report.

Analytics → Farm Analytics charts the same results across your whole network rather than farm by farm. Scenario Planning is where you model reductions: Mitigation Toolbox for building scenarios, Projects for grouping farms into plans, Insetting for programmes running in your value chain.

Your company's own emissions rather than your farms'. Corporate Data holds two pages. Business Units is where you set up the parts of your company you report on. Business units can be arranged in a hierarchy, which gives you more detailed reporting and makes data collection easier. Assessments is where each business unit gets one assessment per reporting year, and each of those carries a separate status per scope, so scope 1 can be finished while scope 3 is still open.

Results appear under Measurement → Corporate Emissions, split across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3. You choose one business unit or all of them, and a year. Each scope gives you a total and a breakdown by category, with Overview and Detail views and the option to compare against another business unit or year.

Business units are the structure your corporate results are grouped and compared by, so getting them right before your first reporting cycle matters more than anything else in this module.

A farm gets a Land Intelligence assessment under Farm Data → Assessments in the same way it gets a carbon one, using the same screens.

Results appear under Measurement → Land Intelligence, per farm and across your supply chain.

Each module has its own data and its own results, and the two are always connected. A figure on Farm Emissions comes from a farm assessment; a figure on Corporate Emissions comes from data uploaded under Corporate Data.

Nothing reaches Measurement until an assessment is Completed. A farm sitting at Not started or In progress is absent from its module's results for that year, which is worth checking before you close a reporting cycle.

Farm Carbon Footprint and Land Intelligence share the same screens, as they are two different assessment types that can be done for a farm. If a farm is missing from your Land Intelligence results, check whether it has a Land Intelligence assessment for that year.

Every results screen is scoped to a single year, and each has its own year selector.
